Meet the FinLeap-Team: Erica Ancobia, Senior Manager People Services

Erica Ancobia holds the position of Senior Manager People Services at FinLeap. She joined the company builder in April 2016.

At first glance, Erica looks full of energy and motivation. She explains her cheerful mood with a recent change in lifestyle: she quit smoking, started eating healthy, and even bought a bike.

Erica joined FinLeap in April 2016 after following and hearing about the company builder from her future colleagues. Thus, she now holds the position of Senior Manager People Services and is responsible for all people-related processes. Erica brings with her not only years of experience, but also a very international spirit. Both she and her mother are originally from Berlin, but moved to the United States when Erica was a teenager. Erica can’t contain her excitement as her mom will be moving back to Berlin and for the first time in years they will be close together. Today, we interviewed Erica about her job and the FinLeap experience.

FinLeap.com: What are the most important traits for a candidate in your opinion?

Erica: There should always be something interesting about a candidate’s CV; something that is different and stands out. Then, the cultural fit of the candidate and whether she/he will be happy working in the company is a main focus.

FinLeap.com: What’s your favorite part of your job?

Erica: People services come right after the recruitment, so it’s very important to give a candidate a good onboarding and greeting in the company. That way, FinLeap feels like home from the very beginning.

Erica: FinLeap is more people-oriented. We focus on offering a good candidate experience and employee life cycle while providing candidates with as much information as needed. The goal is to create a positive bond with the company.

FinLeap.com: What is your favorite part of being in the FinLeap family?

Erica: The atmosphere in the company is great, because there is a professional feeling combined with a drive and agile team. Even though mistakes will always happen, everything runs at a good pace because a clear goal and a plan exist.

In her free time, Erica enjoys going out with friends, participating in bike tours, and good gin.
