Meet the FinLeap-Team: Dominic Breuker, Director Development

Dominic Breuker is Director Development at FinLeap. He joined the company builder in January 2015.

The first impression one gets from Dominic is that he truly loves his job. He works everyday to help our ventures by taking over some of the CTO responsibilities which enables them to become more efficient and focused over time.

Dominic joined FinLeap in January 2015. He found out about the job through a friend from university who now works at the company builder. Dominic brought with him degrees in Information System and a PhD related to Data Science. After being a part of the HitFox Group first, Dominic has transitioned to FinLeap and is now responsible for ensuring applications and tech-related developments are build for the new ventures and thoroughly updated for the entire company. Today, we interviewed Dominic about his work at FinLeap and the Fintech sector.

FinLeap.com: Dominic, you’ve been at FinLeap for over a year. Can you describe one of your more recent projects?

Dominic: I recently led a project related to the creation of the analytics algorithm for one of our newer ventures PAIR. Currently I work for one of FinLeap’s stealth mode ventures. My team is also heavily involved in helping develop the solarisBank platform.

FinLeap.com: What is something you think you’ll have to do in the future to keep up with the Fintech trends in your position?

Dominic: The great thing about the Fintech industry is that it is always evolving and growing, so I have to always be optimally updated to keep up with it.

FinLeap.com: You used to work in research before. How does that help you in your job right now?

Dominic: My academic work involved programming and development of software, so it has helped me gain experience in the field. I am also involved in data science projects internal to the company builder. In those projects, my experience helps me a lot.

FinLeap.com: What’s the best part, in your opinion, of being in the FinLeap team?

Dominic: I really enjoy the people working here. My dedicated team and the atmosphere they create on a daily basis is very energizing.

Dominic is very driven by his work, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he is a tech guy all around. In fact, in his free time, he enjoys playing around with new technology and trying new things.

After the interview, Dominic switched positions from Director Development to Director Data Science to build up data science competencies at FinLeap.
