Investors look at saving reliability as one of the most important aspects of banking. In other words, they want to ensure that their financial goods are in a safe place. Putting the money under a mattress or in a piggy bank, however, is commonly unprofitable. Thus, hard-working savers put their money in fixed-term deposits. There lies the problem: the low interest rates at the moment in German banks offer no real interest on savings.
