Women in Tech Breakfast

On Friday, the 15th of July, our Managing Director Carolin Gabor hosted the “Women in Tech Breakfast”, as a satellite event of the Tech Open Air 2016 in Berlin. The idea behind it was to connect and foster female entrepreneurs and women in the tech industry to combat the lack of female employees.

After welcoming our guests, Carolin kicked-off the event with provocative statements she heard from men along her career path. Summarized: women do not really want a career and if they reach a higher position they are too weak and emotional to get through the hard times anyway. These words triggered vivid discussions and an exchange of the experiences participants have had along their individual career paths. The three prepared whiteboards, one with pictures of the women who want/have a career in tech, one with statements why women make a difference in the tech-world and one with why women get things done, were filled up in no time.

All in all, the event was a great opportunity to network and to experience how powerful female solidarity is. This event kicks-off the greater project Fintech Ladies Europe, initiated by Carolin.

Thanks to all the ladies joining us today!
